I don't put a ton of stock into the whole "trap game" troupe, but the emergence of the Fightin' Bert Bielema's and the timing of their match up with TTUN does pose an interesting scenario. I doubt going into the season that anyone in Ann Arbor gave much thought to preparing for Illinois, much less gave any consideration that they may pose much of a challenge.
Bert has his team playing at a pretty high level. As of this post, he has the nation's leading rusher in Chase Brown (Corum is #2, fyi), and his defense is #1 in total defense and total yards. At the very least they're certainly not a team that can be overlooked.
FWIW, the Buckeyes are on the road against what will likely be a Tualia-less Maryland team the week proceeding our match up against TTUN.
So the question i'm posing to the forum is, how much of an advantage do you see this Illinois vs TTUN match up the week prior to THE GAME being for the Buckeyes, if at all? Are you going to go as far as to apply the "trap game" label to it? Looking forward to reading your opinions.
