Do you believe that Harbaugh has coached is last game?
His termination or suspension has not happened yet mostly (I believe) because the university doesn't need to with their off week. The administration and/or Harbaugh may try to hang on as long as they can and weather the storm, but if this is an inside job as alleged, I just don't see how he survives this.
So, who steps in to replace Harbaugh?
Conventional thought was that is was going to be someone already on staff - Moore, Minter, Hart - thus the rotating interim coaching circus during Harbaugh's suspension at the beginning of the year. If the allegations are as deep and wide as alleged I think Moore, Minter and Hart are out.
Will the university and fanbase have their "Michigan Man" requirement when the consummate Michigan Man disgraced himself and the university and the previous (Hoke) proved to not be up to the task? How serious are the sanctions, if any? Would this affect a person outside the university circle desire to take the position?
It would seem, of course, that no active B1G head coach or coordinator would take the job also, so now you are looking out of conference.
If Harbaugh is indeed terminated, Bruce Feldman (The Athletic) will typically write a quick article with a list of names of hot coaching candidates. I just can't imagine who would be on his list for this job.
It's typical in these situations for the pendulum to swing in the opposite direction, that is to hire someone with the opposite character traits of the person you are replacing. I think in this instance that means someone who is more well respected by administrative and coaching peers or someone who is young and vibrant.
So I would suggest a Klienman (Kansas St.) or Jamey Chadwell (Liberty).
