Many things are impacting CFB and they seem to be coming all at once: the transfer portal, NIL, CFP’s expansion to 12 teams. All of these factors have intersected at the same crucial point: QB, the most important position on the team.
By my count, only five and possibly six of the 18 B1G teams project to open the 2024 season starting a QB who did not begin his college careers at another school (* was on the team in 2023)
- Illinois: Luke Altmyer* (Ole Miss)
- Indiana: Tayven Jackson* (Tennessee) or Kurtis Rourke (Ohio U)
- Iowa: Deacon Hill* (Wisconsin) or Cade McNamara* (Michigan)
- Maryland: Billy Simon* (Wake Forest) or MJ Morris (NC State)
- Michigan: J.J. McCarthy*
- Michigan State: Aidan Chiles (Oregon State)
- Minnesota: Max Brosmer (New Hampshire)
- Nebraska: Heinrich Haarberg* or Dylan Raiola
- Northwestern: Brendan Sullivan*
- Ohio State: Will Howard (Kansas State)
- Oregon: Dillon Gabriel (Oklahoma) or Dante Moore (UCLA)
- Penn State: Drew Allar*
- Purdue: Hudson Card* (Texas)
- Rutgers: Gavin Wimsatt* or Athan Kaliakmanis (Minnesota)
- UCLA: Ethan Garber* (Washington)
- USC: Miller Moss*
- Washington: Will Rogers (Mississippi State)
- Wisconsin: Tyler Van Dyke (Miami)
Thoughts on who you think is in the best position to lead his team a B1G title and into the CFP?
