They have voted to revise the 12 team playoff to include the top 5 conference champions instead of top 6 since the Pac12 is gone. This needed to happen because there is no way 2 G5 conferences should get in. Top 4 conferences champions get the byes.
The CFP finally formalizes the obvious switch to a 5 + 7 model for the postseason. Still a lot of issues for monetary distribution and access to hash out for next iteration, but this step is complete. pic.twitter.com/B7eTLsLMwv
