As I and others predicted with states and others taking them to court they lost again in the courts the NCAA is freezing investigations into NIL payments to Division I athletes. While some rules remain in place such as schools directly providing NIL the reality is their ability to have any governance over NIL is seemingly gone. Yes, there might be appeals and if Congress were to ever take action they could possibly put some controls back in but legislators are not inclined to get into labor restrictions.
