This week, Until Saturday, The Athletic's CFB blog and newsletter, asked its readers how the current climate allowing unlimited transfers has affected their interest in high school recruiting. More than half said they are less interested:
“I have gone from 100 percent interest in high school recruiting to zero. I couldn’t name you a single signee to my favorite school from this past class when I used to know 90 percent of them."
The other 45.4% said they follow high school recruiting as much as ever, and there was a small group that said the current unlimited transfer rule has made them more interested in high school recruting than ever before. As one subscriber noted:
“I’ll always follow high school recruiting. Now, more than ever, I know my school can miss on a kid’s commitment and I know it’s not over.”
