Ohio State blows out Indiana, 38-15. Now, it's time to do the same to That Team Up North.
QB/RB/WRs in Heisman contention get most of the attention, but I pulled up the NCAA.com stats today to see who’s leading in most defensive categories. I know the players most likely to go high in the draft defensively (ACarter, JPearce, WJohnson, NScourton, etc.), but I wanted to see what unknowns are putting up stupid numbers.
Linebacker named Red Murdock from Buffalo is top 6 nationally in tackles per game, also top 7 in TFLs (10) and tied for second in forced fumbles with 3.
Jackson Woodard, a linebacker from UNLV, is top 15 in tackles, but tied for second in the nation in both INTs (4) and passes defended (11).
Edge rusher Trey White of San Diego State leads the nation in sacks (11) and is the runaway leader in TFLs with 15.
Cal CB Nohl Williams is the clear national leader in interceptions with 6, and also has a kickoff return TD
Murdock, White and Williams were unranked 3-stars. Woodard was a no-star.
