Indiana has just extended Curt Cignetti with an 8-year, $64m contract. Someone fact check me, but I believe that his new $8m annual salary would make him the 3rd highest paid coach in the Big Ten, outside Ryan Day and Big Game James.

This has the feeling of a one-hit wonder similar to Mel Tucker a few years ago, but good for IU on actually cashing some of those Big Ten TV checks instead of just sitting on the money like half of the other conference schools. Between this and what they've spent on NIL in hoops, it seems Indiana is at least trying to be competitive in the new order Big Ten, even with the increased competition. Time will tell, but maybe we shouldn't leave them behind in the new super league, lol.
