This has been discussed within posts, so maybe this gets nuked, but here is my question and my thoughts:
Is it TRULY better to LOSE 5 games and beat Michigan? Or - would you prefer a defeat to them and still be one of 12 teams playing for something - possibly a National Championship.
Michigan has 1 thing to gloat about - but their season was historically bad - 5 losses of a National Championship. That has only occurred 3 times in history. Want to know the worst results? Michigan claims 1933 and went 1-7 in 1934.
Let's reverse roles and have us losing 5 games this season and beating Michigan. Would we be "This is awesome - yay!!!" No. We would say "How did we waste this talent and lose 5 flippin' games?" Michigan mismanaged the entire season and we mismanaged a single game - a BIG one.
My point is - we have it better. It sucked to lose, but we are relevant and we have an opportunity. Michigan will play in a bowl that will be attended by tens of people....
