Notre Dame should not be allowed to participate in the College Football Playoffs until they join a conference. They have too much control over their schedule which is an advantage that  conference members do not have. In addition the monetary payout for ND dwarfs what conference teams get. Notre Dame will receive $20 million because the Irish advanced to the championship game. Ohio State will receive $2.6 million because the money earned by Big 10 teams in the playoffs is distributed equally to all conference members.
