I was a huge college basketball fan for a long time but really haven’t followed it that closely in the one-and-done era.  So, my question is: can you recall any NCAA hoops team that had to win four consecutive tournament games against such a string of highly-ranked opponents to emerge as champions?

Per the final AP poll going into the start of the CFP, the Buckeyes beat the teams that were ranked #1, 3, 4, and 7 in winning it all. 

I can’t remember anything remotely happening like that back in the day in the NCAA basketball tourney but my memory could be off on that.
