Ohio State's men's volleyball team lost twice to Loyola-Chicago during the regular season, but with a berth in the MIVA Tournament final on the line there would be no "three-peat". The Buckeyes prevailed 3-1 (25-20, 26-24, 26-28, 25-22) and move on to the MIVA final in Muncie, Indiana on Saturday.
The opponent will be the winner of tonight's match between top-seeded Ball State and Lindenwood, and the stakes will be what is probably the only MIVA bid to the NCAA Tournament. UPDATE: In something of an upset, Lindenwood prevails over Ball State and will be Ohio State's opponent Saturday. (Despite Ball State's elimination, the match remains in Muncie.)
