Ohio State gymnast Kameron Nelson did something that had never been done before during his floor routine at the West Point Open on Saturday.
The Buckeye senior became the first gymnast in the world to compete two triple back somersaults in the same floor routine, earning him a winning score of 13.8 for his floor routine that helped lead Ohio State to the team title at the West Point Open, its first competition of the 2025 season.

Nelson also earned an event win in the vault and finished second in the individual all-around behind only his Ohio State teammate Drake Andrews, qualifying both of them for USA Gymnastics’ Winter Cup.

Ohio State’s season continues on Friday (6 p.m.) when the Buckeyes host Greenville University at the Covelli Center.
