COLUMBUS, Ohio – Two goals in the third period lifted the No. 9/10 Ohio State men's hockey team to a 3-2 victory over Wisconsin in game three of a Big Ten Tournament quarterfinal series in Nationwide Arena.
Ohio State, the No. 3 seed, advances to the semifinal, where it will host No. 5 seed Penn State in a single game at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in Value City Arena. The Nittany Lions swept No. 4 Michigan in Ann Arbor to advance. No. 1 seed Michigan State will host No. 7 Notre Dame in the other semifinal at 6 p.m. The Irish won in three games at No. 2 Minnesota. The Buckeyes are making a third consecutive appearance in the semifinal round.
The Buckeyes are now 23-12-2 on the year and the Badgers end their season 13-21-3. Ohio State was 6-1 against Wisconsin in 2024-25. This was the second year in a row Ohio State and Wisconsin met in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament; last season the No. 7 Buckeyes won the series in three games over the No. 2 seed Badgers in Madison.
