Four Ohio State football players were recognized for their academic achievements on Tuesday when the Big Ten released its list of Distinguished Scholars for 2017-18.
Junior safety Jordan Fuller, redshirt junior long snapper Liam McCullough, junior linebacker Hayden Jester and senior kicker Bryan Kristan were each recognized after maintaining grade-point averages of at least 3.7 for the past year.
Fuller, the Buckeyes' starting safety and a sport industry major, was previously named as a second-team CoSIDA Academic All-American this past fall. McCullough, the Buckeyes' starting long snapper and a finance major, was named as a Distinguished Scholar for the second year in a row.
In total, 129 Ohio State student-athletes were named Big Ten Distinguished Scholars for 2017-18, also including wrestlers Bo and Micah Jordan and Nathan Tomasello and former women's basketball player Stephanie Mavunga, among others.
