Grimes, a former four-star recruit and top-50 player out of Florida, appeared in just two games for the Buckeyes before taking a personal leave of absence from the team due to a health issue in his family. Ultimately, Grimes decided to transfer to Florida to be closer to his family.
Grimes joins former Buckeye running back Antonio Williams at North Carolina and offensive lineman Jack Wohlabaugh at Duke as transfers receiving immediate eligibility at their new schools.
