The Athletic came up with a stat called the "Stop Rate." It may be someone else's but I haven't seen it before.

It shows the percentage of a defense's stops via turnovers, downs, punts. Interesting that the top four teams in the country in Stop Rate are B1G teams.

OBTW, scUM is #24 and Alabama is #19, just behind Northwestern. 

They also calculate a "3 & Out Rate." OSU is #4.
