2025 cornerback Jordyn Woods flips from Cincinnati and commits to Ohio State.
In news that shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, Ohio State's Justin Fields was one of 30 quarterbacks named Tuesday to the watch list for the Davey O'Brien Award, which honors college football's best quarterback.
Fields was already one of three finalists for the Davey O'Brien Award last year, along with LSU's Joe Burrow (who won the award) and Oklahoma's Jalen Hurts, who are both now in the NFL.
After a spectacular first season leading the Buckeyes offense in 2019, when he threw for 3,273 yards and 41 touchdowns with only three interceptions while also rushing for 484 yards and 10 touchdowns, Fields is widely considered to be one of the two best quarterbacks in college football, along with Clemson's Trevor Lawrence.
Should they play this fall, Fields and Lawrence are expected to be the frontrunners not only for the Davey O'Brien Award, but for the Heisman Trophy.
