2025 cornerback Jordyn Woods flips from Cincinnati and commits to Ohio State.
Another Buckeye made a preseason watch list on Friday as Ohio State's Luke Farrell was one of 36 tight ends named to the watch list for the John Mackey Award, which honors the nation's best tight end.
A fifth-year senior, Farrell is entering his third year as the Buckeyes' starting tight end. He has only 28 career catches for 343 yards and three touchdowns, but is highly regarded for his blocking ability in an Ohio State offense that doesn't typically use its tight ends heavily as receivers.
No Ohio State player has ever won the John Mackey Award.
Farrell is one of eight Big Ten tight ends on the Mackey Award watch list, along with Penn State's Pat Freiermuth, Indiana's Peyton Hendershot, Wisconsin's Jake Ferguson, Michigan's Nick Eubanks, Maryland's Chigoziem Okonkwo, Nebraska's Jack Stoll and Iowa's Sam LaPorta.
