I am an alum and been following the Bucks for 50 plus (yes 50) years. Graduated in the 70s, there with Archie, and watching since. Sure we have been lucky to follow the Buckeyes with so many great teams and players. But has it seemed like we missed way too many championships? The 70s were great years, but no Nattys . Undefeated in 73 (10-0-1) but ending #2. Undefeated until loss to USC in Rose Bowl in 79. The worse was losing to UCLA in Rose bowl in 75 after beating them by 21 at home during season. 75 and 79 probable nattys with wins. 80s were hard but still had a few good seasons. 90s - 3, 11 win seasons and 2 10 win seasons (with less games) but no nattys - won’t even discuss 96 and 98. Then Natty in 02 and everyone back for 03 except Clarrett so 11-2. Best team in 06 but didn’t show against Fla. 07 loss to better LSU team. Great decade in 2010s but still several disappointments. 9 years with 11 wins or more, 8 with 12 or more and 3 with 13 or more. 2012 undefeated season but nothing. 2014 Natty and full team back in 15 but lose to best msu team in their history so no Natty (should have won). 2018 13-1 but lose to Purdue (?). Great 19 team but no show against Clemson. 2020s starts during Covid with several key players out for Alabama. Then 2022, had the game won but give it away at the end. A lot of great teams for only 2 NCs. Lucky or jinxed - thoughts.
