Does anybody else recall the days when we had to worry about new recruits not qualifying academically for eligibility? I believe it was the 1999 recruiting class when we had six recruits not qualify. Moreover, do you remember the days when  athletes would not academically qualify for bowl games? Why is it that I never hear about football players not qualifying anymore? In fact, high school athletes are now routinely graduating early and sometimes reclassifying to get to college a full year early. Call me a skeptic, but I don't think it's because kids across the country are all that much smarter. Have standards been lowered where everyone now qualifies? Please tell me what I'm missing.
