This showed itself a bit in the Marshall game but really stood out in the first half yesterday. Why in the world are all of our DBs 10 yards off their man in this defense? I know there is a time and place for soft coverage but last night Michigan St had no problem moving the ball down the field on this Defense in the 1st half. Luckily we got a stop on 4th down and 2 fumbles inside the 20 or the game would have been a lot closer. We adjusted well in the second half and started playing more press coverage and it made a world of difference. We have 3 lock down corners that start in this defense and two stud safeties, press coverage should be the heart of this defense not what we need to adjust to in the second half.
