People are stating that Knowles is not being given free reigns to the defense, which has hampered the defensive performance. Multiple sources indicating that LJ is impeding Knowles from implementing his defense (article below). I know Austin Ward has alluded to this several times as well. Not sure why Day has allowed this to fester for so long. 

I am no Knowles apologist, but I hope there are some schematic changes. Given the lack of a consistent pass rush, I don't think this defense can accomplish what it wants by being overly simplistic and passive. I think Knowles will need to dial up the pressure a bit and let the linebackers, for example, attack more. They are not good at reading and reacting to plays. I have noticed that he has been run blitzing Sonny some more the past couple of games.
