Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach of ESPN prognosticated the final CFP rankings after next weekend's results. Ohio State was no lower than the seventh seed in either bracket. Kyle had Ohio State at #6 facing #11 Miami at home, and Mark had us at #7 facing #10 Indiana at home. We would avoid a matchup against Tennessee in both of those scenarios. A sixth seed would potentially be especially favorable for Ohio State because it would ensure a much easier quarterfinal matchup if OSU were to win its first round matchup. OSU receiving the sixth seed would depend upon Georgia and PSU both losing and the committee dropping Georgia and PSU both below Ohio State. It certainly isn't out of the question. PSU should drop below OSU if they lose since OSU beat them at Happy Valley, and PSU has no ranked wins besides Illinois. Georgia will likely be ranked below PSU anyway, so it's definitely possible they would drop below OSU with a third loss.

As long as Ohio State is ranked 6th tomorrow ahead of Tennessee, as I anticipate they will be, Ohio State is in decent shape in terms of seeding pending the results of Championship weekend. I know there is a lot of negativity, but hopefully this can potentially provide some optimism. The path might not be as difficult as you guys may think.
