Please forgive me for asking a question that I'm sure everyone else knows, but I went onto Ticketmaster to see what playoff tickets were going for. I wasn't necessarily looking to buy but when I heard that prices were starting at $100 I couldn't believe it. When I went onto this morning prices per ticket were up to $300-$500+ per ticket. Now, all of the tickets available were verified resale

Now, I do know that verified resale tickets are tickets that were originally purchased at a face value but the purchaser is reselling them.  But it seems odd that the entire Shoe right now would be bought out by season ticket holders ( their original tickets and the extra 4 tickets they were allowed to purchase), but maybe I'm wrong. 

Also, if I understand correctly the seller of the verified resale tickets determines the price; is that correct? 

So, I guess what I'm saying is that was OSU misleading the public when they said tickets start at $100 if they knew that by Thursday (when the general public could buy tickets) the entire Shoe would be bought out by season ticket holders and the general public would be at the mercy of these resellers ?
