With what we have seen in the playoffs, something needs changed.

If you have a 16 team playoff, why do you need a conference championship game?  Give the regular season title to a team after the regular season is done based on the old schemes and tie breakers.  Then pick those champs and at large bids to fill out the 16 team bracket.  The conference title games are not necessary and extend the season for no good reason.  Give the higher seeds the additional home game in the playoff.

OR

If the champ games are kept, then only have 8 teams in the playoffs.  Bye weeks are not beneficial so far, so the top 4 seeds are penalized.  Also, all the 4 lowest seeds lost, so why did we even need that round?
