Is there a better safety duo that you can remember? Not just this season, but ever at Ohio State? I’m 43, so Doss and Nickey come to mind. I didn’t get to see them play but I’m sure Sensabaugh/Tatum will get some love and deservedly so. There’s been a bunch of others. Bell/Powell. Hooker/Webb.
The impact those 2 are making on defense is incredible. I’ve focused so much on Downs and how he triggers so fast on run plays, rarely misses tackles, and is just always in the right place, that Ransom is almost an afterthought. But he’s as close to an equal to Downs as anyone in the country. For a kid who’s had significant injuries, only to be playing his best ball now, it’s incredible to see.
