I don't have any analytics to back it up, this is an observational post.
Does Ryan Day intentionally hold back his QB's by strongly discouraging running for a lot of the season and only turn them lose at the end when it's finally do or die.
Under Urban, we got used to a lot of rushing yards out of our QB play and say the good (keeping defenses more honest) and bad (injuries) that come with that style.
I feel like Day has really focused on health and longevity in his program. This is reflected in intentionally slowing down pace of play for this season.
Another area we see this is with QB runs. CJ Stroud had some good mobility, but notoriously wouldn't run. Even Howard who came in with a reputation for running, didn't overly rely on his legs. But in the Georgia game for Stroud and Texas/ND for Howard, it seems that that QB runs were more impactful and meaningful.
Anyone else agree or am I just imagining things?
