What an amazing journey this team just took us on!
In thinking about what’s to come and after today’s transfer/non-transfer news. I got to thinking. What is our biggest question mark going into 2025.
On offense we lose EE, who ended up the all time catch leader. Both tackles* and our starting TE. Two top 5 RB NFL draft prospects and warrior at QB.
On defense we lose the best Dline in college football. A stalwart LB and several DBs.
What do we return? Innis will be just fine in the slot. We transferred in two quality OT’s and the top TE in the portal. We have quality at RB, but definitely a step back. Plus, the #1 QB recruit for 2024.
We had 6 guys play meaningful snaps on the Dline. Although, one has entered the transfer portal. Reese will step right in at LB. We are good at CB with Matthews and Iggy coming back. Plus, the #1 CB recruit in the country incoming. Which brings me to safety. Caleb Downs will be the top defensive player in the country, but who lines up beside him?
That a look at the snap count reports for the title game. All 63 snaps went to Ransom and Downs. The other playoff games were the same for meaningful downs (pun not intended).
IMO, the other safety position is the biggest?
