I took a look at the team rankings for the transfer portal (as of today) and found the following breakdown (of those players who have committed to a team).

4 Stars – 54

3 Stars – 255 !!

The landing spot for the 5 stars is not so surprising (Texas and Alabama).

The teams signing the most 4 stars were:

5 players: Ole Miss, Arkansas

4 players: Gators, USC

3 Players: Oklahoma, South Carolina

In the B1G, the top signees were:

Nebby    12 Overall (1 -  4 Star)

Indiana  10 (2 )

Minny      7 (0)

Purdue    6 (0)

Sparty     5  (0)

Rutgers   5 (1)

It looks like the top programs are being somewhat selective in who they go after (ie team chemistry). Others are having limited success in trying to upgrade their talent level with a limited number of  4 star talent and a majority of 3 stars.

Overall, it doesn’t look like the wild west (looking at you NIL) but there are still a couple of big portal periods coming (after spring ball and August camps).
