For one year only, pass interference -- both offensive and defensive -- will be reviewable, the first penalties and judgment calls ever to be added to the list of approved reviews. Moreover, coaches will be able to challenge non-calls for pass interference. The replay booth, in conjunction with the league's officiating office in New York, will initiate those challenges in the final two minutes of each half.
I think this has the potential to be a good thing for obvious calls like the NFC title game. But it also has the potential to be awful if the booth is stopping play after every other pass to check on it. Wait and see i suppose.
(For those wondering, the “one year only” is the standard way of implementing changes, as it will simply roll off the books if it’s a total disaster. Otherwise it will be extended next year)
