At the end of today’s CBJ game vs Chicago, the Hawks were called for too many men on the ice. The whistle was called at 19.2 but the clock ran to 18.1.
The officials did not reset the clock. Later, CBJ defenseman Zach Werenski scored the game winning goal after the clock ran out. If the officials had reset the clock, it would have been in on time.
Later, in the first shoot of the ensuing shootout, the CBJ goalie gets hurt on the first shot and has to be carried down the tunnel.
Here are coach John Tortorella’s comments. This is the worst sports weekend for Columbus in a long time.
