Back in 2014 as the Buckeyes were preparing to play Bama in the Sugar Bowl my mother had a stroke and was taken to UC MEDICAL ICU. She had a 2nd stroke while there and so I spent quite a bit of time there helping my dad out. I was also dealing with finding my MiL a nursing home at the same time, so things were a little stressful. I was spending a lot of time driving between Col +Cincy.

One late afternoon I was walking down the hall in my OSU 33 jersey and a nurse stopped me and said OH, I was a little surprised but answered IO and we talked for a bit. She mentioned that she and her husband were hoping to go to the Championship game because her son was Sam Hubbard. Not what I expected while in the ICU but it was a nice conversation that made my day.

I think of it periodically, especially around the holidays and then again as the reports about Hamlin being at UC MEDICAL ICU.
