The Guardians enter the last 107 games of the season with a record of 25-30, 3.5 games behind the Minnesota Twins in the AL Central. As of June 1, Cleveland is 29th in MLB in overall hitting, and 8th in MLB in pitching.
With the obvious lack of power the team has, being last in MLB in HR's, will the Guardians entertain a trade or two to bolster that aspect of the team? Will Shane Beiber be one of the pieces that the FO will entertain offers? How much more turnover will the roster have, especially if the team falls further in the standings?
For right now, the pitching, long a strength of the organization, has kept the team from free falling in the AL Central. The emergence of rookie hurlers Logan Allen and Tanner Bibee further drives that point home.
As long as the Guardians are within 5 games or so of 1st place, there probably won't be any major moves made by the FO. Unless the bats become more consistent, though, winning the division will be really difficult.
Go Guardians!!
