February 7, 2018 was a good, good day.

There aren't many days where good great Buckeye news truly flows from start to finish, but Wednesday was certainly one of those days.

Ohio State fans knew some of it was coming, as the team already had commitments from unsigned players Tyler Friday, Chris Olave and Tyreke Smith, who just needed to make their commitment a formality with a pen and a fax machine.

The surprises didn't take long though, as the nation's top offensive tackle, Nicholas Petit-Frere, signed with the Buckeyes in the morning, followed closely after by four-star defensive end Javontae Jean-Baptiste.

The duo put the finishing touches on Ohio State's 2018 class, making it the highest-rated recruiting class in program history.

The good news kept flowing.

Shortly after the #BOOMs subsided, the Buckeyes got perhaps the best news of the day: defensive coordinator Greg Schiano will remain at Ohio State for at least one more season, contrary to earlier reports that he was expected to leave to join the Patriots. Urban Meyer confirmed the news, adding that Schiano turned down multiple college and NFL opportunities to stay in Columbus.

Within moments of that news, we learned a deal was in place to extend Meyer's contract, keeping Ohio State's winningest head coach – by percentage – in Columbus until 2022.

Then came the nightcap.

The men's hoops team hit the road to take on No. 3 Purdue with the Big Ten lead on the line. Despite missing Kam Williams due to a suspension, foul trouble from Kaleb Wesson and 46 combined points from Carsen Edwards and Isaac Haas, the Buckeyes battled back from a 14-point second-half deficit to down the Boilermakers 64-63 on a late putback from Keita Bates-Diop.

What. A. Day.
