Once again, Buckeyes are among the world's best as three former Ohio State women's hockey players will go for gold in the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.
The group is headlined by Natalie Spooner, the Ohio State's all-time leading scorer and the only player in program history to score 100 career goals. Playing at Ohio State between 2008 and 2012, Spooner also ranks second in school history in both points and power-play goals.
Spooner is looking for her second-straight Olympic gold with team Canada after winning gold in the previous Winter Olympics as part of the Canadian team in the 2014 Sochi games.
“Natalie is one of the most unique and prestigious hockey players in the world, I’m grateful that she’s an alum of The Ohio State University,” Ohio State head coach Nadine Muzerall said in a release. “Sadly I never got a chance to coach her, but I did coach against her and I got an up-close view of how lethal is."

Joining Spooner at the games is former Buckeye Annie Svedin of team Sweden. Svedin played at Ohio State between 2010 and 2014 and has played professionally in Sweden since her graduation.
Svedin played in 134 games at Ohio State, scoring five goals and tallying 22 assists. She's now making her first appearance at the Winter Olympics.
Last but not least is Minttu Tuominen, making her third appearance at the Olympic Games, representing Finland. Tuominen won a bronze medal at the 2010 Olympics, competing during her first year at Ohio State, and finished in fifth place in 2014.
Women's hockey games will begin Feb. 10 and many will be televised nationally on NBCSN.
