After a 2-2 finish at the Environmental Staffing Chanticleer Classic, Ohio State baseball made the 90-minute trip from Conway, South Carolina to Wilmington, North Carolina to take on UNC Wilmington in a two-game series.

The Buckeyes took both games on the road, defeating the Seahawks 8-3, followed by an 8-1 win in back to back days, including an impressive performance by sophomore Jake Vance in the second game, which allowed the pitcher to earn his first career win.

After an off day, Ohio State earned a massive victory last night when they walked-off against Cal St. Northridge (CSUN) by a final score of 2-1. Senior pitcher Seth Kinker had an impressive outing out of the bullpen, throwing 4.1 scoreless innings with a career high seven strikeouts.

In the bottom of the twelfth inning, sophomore outfielder Dominic Canzone had an RBI single to score redshirt junior Nate Romans and give the Buckeyes a hard-fought victory in their home opener.

Due to forecasted inclement weather, Ohio State will have the day off today before playing a doubleheader against CSUN on Saturday at Bill Davis Stadium beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Buckeyes will then have a few days off before hosting Eastern Michigan for one game on Wednesday, and then Georgetown for a three-game weekend series beginning on Friday.

Don't look now, but the Buckeyes are quietly having a good season in their quest to win their second Big Ten championship in three years. Big Ten play opens on Friday, March 30 when Ohio State plays host to Nebraska.
