Ohio State Golfer Will Grimmer Makes US Open Cut with 72 in Second Round

Ohio State junior golfer Will Grimmer fired a round of 2-over 72 to become one of just three amateurs to make the US Open cut at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York Friday.

The Cincinnati native stands at 5-over par and tied for 25th entering Saturday's third round.

Grimmer's putter is putting in work. According to Ohio State, he has needed just 58 putts over the first two rounds and has holed over 198 feet worth of putts. His +2.53 in strokes gained puts him in the top 10 of the field.

American Dustin Johnson sits atop the Open leaderboard with a -3 through the first 36 holes.

Fox will have coverage of the tournament from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
