Birzon's game-winner leads Buckeyes to win over Michigan State
Following a loss to Michigan, Ohio State women's soccer traveled to East Lansing this Sunday to take on the Spartans in what would prove to be a hard fought match. The Buckeyes totaled ten shots, but the Spartan goalkeeper Reilley Ott turned out to be a tough nut to crack making a whopping seven saves.
The score was locked 0-0 at halftime, but OSU struck gold with Marissa Birzon's 10 yard strike in the 51st minute. The Buckeyes would continue to challenge Ott, but failed to convert any more goals for the rest of the game. Michigan State never truly challenged the Ohio State defense, mustering only five shots and forcing only two saves.
