Ohio State's run is over.
The Buckeyes fell 10-5 to Indiana State in an elimination game on Sunday afternoon, ending their 2019 NCAA Tournament run in regional play.
The loss ends a hot streak for the Buckeyes, who won 13 of their last 15 games and clinched the Big Ten Tournament championship to earn an unexpected bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Indiana State struck first with a two-run first inning, but the Buckeyes punched back immediately with three runs of their own. Ohio State added another run in the bottom of the fourth to go up 4-2 and Indiana State countered with a run at the top of the next inning.
The Buckeyes held a slim lead until the sixth, then Indiana State took over.
The Sycamores pushed across four runs in the sixth inning to go up 7-4, then added another in the next inning to go up 8-4. Ohio State got one run back in the bottom of the seventh and had the tying run at the plate, but was unable to convert.
Indiana State added two more insurance runs at the top of the ninth, and Ohio State couldn't counter, falling 10-5.
With the loss, Ohio State's season officially comes to a close. The Buckeyes finished with a 36-27 overall record with a Big Ten Tournament title and one NCAA Tournament win.
