Ohio State's Women's Swim and Dive Team Places Seventh at NCAA Championships, Good For Best Finish in School History

After four days of competition at the NCAA Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina, Ohio State's women's swim and dive team set a program record finishing No. 7 overall. 

The Buckeyes qualified 15 student-athletes for the championships after winning a second consecutive Big Ten title:

  • Seniors: Hanna Gresser, Taylor Petrak, Freya Rayner, Kristen Romano and Katie Trace
  • Juniors: Emily Crane and Sally Tafuto
  • Sophomores: Hannah Bach, Mackenzie Crawford and Amy Fulmer
  • Freshmen: Maya Geringer, Janessa Mathews, Ciara McGing, Catherine Russo and Katherine Zenick

The seventh place finish toppled the program's previous best-finish of No. 10 overall back in 1983. Virginia captured the national title with 491 points and Michigan finished sixth with 224.5. 

Ten Ohio State athletes earned a total of 28 All-American honors with both marks serving as new school records. Salute to Hannah Bach, Emily Crane, Mackenzie Crawford, Amy Fulmer, Taylor Petrak, Freya Rayner, Kristen Romano, Sally Tafuto, Katie Trace and Katherine Zenick.
