They say three's a crowd — or at least a crowded trophy case for the Ohio State pistol team.
Continuing its trend of stellar postseason performance, the pistol team gave Buckeye sports fans another national title to brag about Saturday as the OSU sharpshooters claimed a third national title in as many years and fourth in their last five trips.

They swept the team events as well as the individual championships!

The Buckeyes’ unit of eight swept every championship event, individual and team alike. Katelyn Abeln and Maria Tsarik featured heavily on their own way to each claiming two individual national titles for Ohio State. Abeln was also a key contributor to the title-winning team last year in the air pistol finals.
The Buckeyes have now won eight total open and women's national titles in pistol events since 2000. Put another way, that represents roughly a third of all national collegiate pistol championships since the start of the new millennium.
Ohio State women’s hockey will look to follow the pistol team’s lead of winning consecutive national championships when it takes on the Wisconsin Badgers at 4 p.m. Sunday (ESPNU).
