Ohio State, which is currently ranked 11th in the country, had never won more than eight of its first 12 games in a season before this year.
The Buckeyes’ efforts this season have been led by two-sport star Makenna Webster, who also plays for Ohio State’s women’s ice hockey team. Webster currently ranks second in the NCAA in goals scored this season after scoring her 14th goal of the year in Friday’s win.
Brenna Bough, Ohio State‘s second-leading scorer, scored her seventh goal of the win in the third quarter of Friday’s game to propel the Buckeyes to their historic victory over Iowa.
Ohio State, which is now 3-1 in Big Ten play, will look to keep its momentum going when it plays another road game against Indiana on Saturday at noon.
