124 Ohio State athletes earned Academic All-Big Ten honors for fall sports.
It’s the second year in a row that exactly 124 fall sports athletes from Ohio State have earned Academic All-Big Ten honors.
37 of those Academic All-Big Ten honorees are from the football team. Those honorees include 11 Buckeyes who started games during the regular season: Wide receivers Emeka Egbuka, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Xavier Johnson, running back TreVeyon Henderson, quarterback Kyle McCord, offensive linemen Donovan Jackson and Carson Hinzman, defensive end Jack Sawyer, linebacker Cody Simon, safety Sonny Styles and punter Jesse Mirco.
Ohio State’s fall sports Academic All-Big Ten honorees also include 21 field hockey players, 20 men’s soccer players, 14 athletes each from women’s cross country and women’s soccer, 11 men’s cross country runners and seven women’s volleyball players.
Two Ohio State athletes received special recognition from the Big Ten for achieving 4.0 GPAs: Erin Little, a junior back on the field hockey team, and Reed Davis, a graduate forward on the men’s soccer team.
All Academic All-Big Ten honorees have a GPA of at least 3.0 and have been enrolled full-time at Ohio State for at least 12 months.
