When D'Angelo Russell spurned recruiters such as Kentucky and Louisville to sign with The Ohio State Buckeyes, the talented guard cited a close relationship with Thad Matta.
Russell, of course, plays for the Los Angeles Lakers now, but the No. 2 overall pick was in Columbus Saturday as part of Ohio State's efforts to woo Kobi Simmons, a 2016 five-star combo guard out of Georgia, during his official visit.
