Ohio State has one final shot to impress one of the country's top unsigned 2017 prospects.
Four-star guard Mark Smith, from Edwardsville, Illinois, will take an official visit this weekend, a source confirmed to Eleven Warriors. The news was first reported by Adam Zagoria of ZagsBlog.com. According to Zagoria, Smith will decide on a school "sometime after" his visit to Columbus.
Smith is the No. 74-ranked player in the country, according to 247Sports' composite rankings. He is a 6-foot-5, 225-pound combo guard who was recently named Mr. Basketball in the state of Illinois.
Smith also has scholarship offers from Michigan State, Illinois, Kentucky and others. Additionally, he recently had an in-home visit with Duke though no scholarship offer has been reported.
Ohio State currently has two players signed in its 2017 recruiting class: four-star center Kaleb Wesson and three-star point guard Braxton Beverly.
