Ohio State's D'Angelo Russell has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the first time of what will likely be many for the talented Louisville native.
In the Buckeyes' two games this week — a 64-55 loss to Louisville and a 70-50 victory over Colgate — Russell averaged 18 points, five rebounds and five assists per game. His performance in the second half against the Cardinals allowed Ohio State to trim a 17-point halftime deficit down to just three with a minute remaining.
Despite the loss to Louisville, the Buckeyes are ranked No. 12 in this week's AP Poll and will take on High Point at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
