Ohio State underwent a scary moment to one of its most important players during Thursday's 72-67 victory over Providence when junior forward Keita Bates-Diop slipped and fell then needed help off the court.
Thankfully for the Buckeyes, things weren't as bad as they looked.
Ohio State head coach Thad Matta said after the game Bates-Diop suffered a sprained ankle, and his status moving forward is day-to-day.
"Believe it or not it was his ankle," Matta said. "Just an ankle sprained, it kind of puffed up or whatever. He's day-to-day, but we'll need him back that's for sure."
Bates-Diop is averaging 10.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game this season for Ohio State, which improved to 3-0 following the win over the Friars.
The Buckeyes will next be in action Monday when they host Western Carolina.
