Ohio State scored 60 points in a half for the first time since 1991 in a 111-70 win over Marshall on Friday night. Senior Marc Loving led six players in double figures by adding 20 points and 14 rebounds for the Buckeyes, who improved to 6-0 on the young season.
Junior Kam Williams hit five three-pointers and scored 17 points in his third-consecutive start in place of the injured Keita Bates-Diop, while freshman Micah Potter recorded his first career double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Ohio State played its best half of the season in the opening 20 minutes against Marshall, shooting 58 percent from the field to open a 60-37 lead. The Thundering Herd hit a few from behind the arc to cut the lead to 16 after halftime, but a 12-2 run by the Buckeyes put the game away for good.
Ohio State travels Virginia as part of the 18th ACC/Big Tenn Challenge on Wednesday, Nov. 30. Tip-off in Charlottesville is scheduled for 9 p.m. on ESPN2.
