Ohio State's two-game winning streak came to a screeching halt on Sunday afternoon, as the Buckeyes fell to Northwestern, 74-72. It marked the Wildcats' first win in Columbus since 1977.
The Buckeyes took a brief 55-52 lead when C.J. Jackson knocked down a three-pointer with just over four minutes left to play, but the Wildcats scored the next four to take a one-point lead. After exchanging buckets, Northwestern's Isiah Brown scored four-straight points to put the Wildcats ahead for good.
Scottie Lindsey led the way for Northwestern with a game-high 21 points, while Bryant McIntosh added 17. Ohio State had four players in double figures, meanwhile, led by Jea'Sean Tate's 14.
Free throw shooting the difference in the game, as the Buckeyes were just 12-for-23 from the charity stripe, while the Wildcats were 19-for-24.
Ohio State falls to 12-8 on the season and 2-5 in the Big Ten with the loss. The Buckeyes will be back in action on Wednesday against Minnesota. Tip off at Value City Arena at the Jerome Schottenstein Center is scheduled for 7 p.m. on BTN.
